The Galveston Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (GCAAZK) is a local chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers. AAZK is a non-profit volunteer organization (U.S. 501c3) made up of professional zoo keepers and other interested persons dedicated to professional animal care and conservation.
GCAAZK primarily consists of the biologists of the aquarium and rainforest at Moody Gardens. We are a small chapter dedicated to conservation both locally and globally, continuing education for our members, promoting public awareness of our concern for all deserving conservation projects, the need for the preservation of our natural resources, and the species that depend on those resources. Our organization was formed in 2002 and we proudly hosted the 34th annual AAZK national conference in 2007.
